Alors que la violence en Israël et en Palestine s'intensifie et menace la stabilité mondiale, l'Initiative humanitaire mondiale s'est jointe à une coalition de plus de 70 ONG mondiales pour demander un cessez-le-feu permanent entre Israël et la Palestine afin d'éviter toute perte de vie et destruction supplémentaire de part et d'autre.
La déclaration, cosignée par de nombreux activistes mondiaux de la paix de l'IHM, une organisation bénéficiant d'un statut consultatif spécial auprès des Nations Unies, condamne toute violence contre les civils et implore les deux parties de respecter le droit humanitaire international et d 'écouter les crises de millions de personnes dans le monde réclamant un cessez-le-feu immédiat.
Le Dr Abdul Basit Syed FRSA, président de World Humanitarian Drive (WHD) , a exhorté les gouvernements d'Israël et de la Palestine à engager immédiatement des pourparlers de paix pour le bien de l'humanité.
Daizy Gedeon, membre du conseil de WHD , journaliste multi-récompensée, réalisatrice et militante des droits de l'homme, a ajouté qu'il incombait à chacun de faire tout en son pouvoir pour rétablir la sécurité pour les habitants d'Israël et de Palestine et mettre fin rapidement à cette catastrophe humaine. La paix et la stabilité pour tous doivent être notre priorité principale. Sans justice et équité, la paix ne sera jamais possible.

World Humanitarian Drive (WHD) Calls for an Immediate Ceasefire in Israel and Palestine.
As the violence in Israel and Palestine escalates and threatens world stability, the World Humanitarian Drive joined a coalition of more than 70 Global NGOs in calling for a permanent ceasefire between Israel and Palestine to prevent any further loss of life and destruction on either side.
The statement, co-signed by many prominent Global Peace Activists from the WHD, which is an organisation with special consultative status at the United Nations, condemned all violence against civilians and pleaded with both parties to respect international humanitarian law and heed the cries of millions of people around the world for an immediate ceasefire.
WHD Chairman Dr Abdul Basit Syed FRSA, urged the governments of both Israel and Palestine to immediately initiate peace talks for the sake of humanity.
WHD board member and multi-award-winning journalist, filmmaker and human rights activist, Daizy Gedeon, added it was incumbent upon all of us to do whatever is in our power to restore safety to the people of both Israel and Palestine and bring a swift end to this human catastrophe. Peace and stability for all, must be our primary focus. Without justice and equity, peace will never be possible.
